Who We Are
Jake Hammond and Jade Reid are the co-owners of Hammond & Reid Land Surveying Ltd. They are childhood friends who also attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale together. Their dream was to work through the various phases of testing and work requirements to earn their professional land surveying licenses with hopes to one day open a firm together.
That dream was fulfilled in 2010 when they opened Hammond and Reid Land Surveying LTD. They’ve since grown from a one-room office on the Shelbyville town square to their current location with multiple surveying crews.
Hammond & Reid is a cornerstone company that is focused on helping people build for their future.
About Jade
Jade became interested in land surveying in high school because of his love of working outdoors.
In 2002, Jade attended Lake Land Community College and achieved his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering. He then went on to attend SIUC and earned his Bachelors Degree in Advanced Technical Studies in 2004. He received his professional land surveying license in 2009. He is also a member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association.
In his free time, Jade enjoys spending time with his family and working on his family’s cattle farm.
About Jake
In 2002, Jake attended Lake Land community College and achieved a Civil Engineering Technology Associates Degree in 2002. He then went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Advanced Technical Studies in 2004 from SIU. He received his professional land surveying license in 2009, and a member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association.
Jake enjoys helping fulfill clients’ needs, developing relationships, and managing the Hammond & Reid team on a daily basis.
In his free time, you’ll find him with family or at local sporting events.
